Welcome! We are Genevieve and Glen, the team behind 'Colors of Awakening'.
After two years on the road with our furry friend, Zill, exploring the vibrant cultures of the Americas and covering more than 30,000 miles from the United States to Guatemala, we are transitioning from 'Wake in Wave' to our new identity.
The birth of the 'Wake in Wave' podcast in 2020 emerged during my (Genevieve's) Dark Night of the Soul, initially serving as a lifeline and a platform for self-exploration and healing.
As Glen and I ventured into the Americas, our journey became a collective canvas of awakening, with each guest contributing their unique color to the narrative. We've shared intimate stories, learned invaluable lessons, and discovered the transformative power of nature.
The backdrop to our encounters varied dramatically, from expansive desert plains to lush rainforests and hidden Mayan cities.
The podcast matured to include a film series, sharing behind-the-scenes footage of our adventures and celebrating the humanity we found amidst a global pandemic.
The profound connections we've formed on this journey have touched us deeply. From being welcomed by strangers into their homes for weeks at a time to exchanging stories with the local people we met, the warmth and generosity we've experienced have woven depth into our awakening tapestry.
'Colors of Awakening' embodies this transformative journey, reflecting the diversity of our shared human experiences. As we step into this exciting new chapter, we carry forward these experiences and a renewed sense of purpose, ever ready to explore and learn more.

Our Story...
Glen and I met in Israel in 2016 around one of his beautiful art projects involving the children of the community I then worked with.
Five years later, we reconnected. I shared with Glen my decision to hike through Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru. A few months and a few existential conversations later, we met to embark on an incredible journey through the Americas.
June 18, 2021 marked the beginning of our voyage. Glen and his four-legged companion, Zill, met me in San Jose, California and we began driving towards the Navajo reservation in Chinle, Arizona. It's now almost 2 years later and we have made so many new friends on the road and have recorded countless stories.
